When you upload your doctoral dissertation, you must accept the following declaration of consent to publish it on edoc:

By saving your dissertation, you transfer to the University Library of Basel the following non-exclusive rights of use for the document and the associated metadata:

  • The right to save it in electronic format and make it publicly available (if applicable following the expiry of an embargo period);
  • The right to share metadata (incl. abstract) with third parties and to provide files to cooperation partners for archiving purposes and for parallel publication, particularly to the Swiss National Library;
  • The right to create copies and to convert it to other electronic or physical formats for archiving purposes, provided that the integrity of the content is maintained;

By saving your doctoral dissertation, you confirm to the University Library of Basel that:

  • The publication of this work or parts thereof does not infringe the rights of any third party. The University Library of Basel is to be informed immediately of the assertion of any alleged or actual breach of third-party copyrights.
  • The University Library of Basel is exempt from any claims by third parties.
  • The electronic version of the doctoral dissertation submitted is identical to the printed deposit copies (with the exception of the title page and CV).
  • I have taken note of the policies of edoc.
